The Range Rover Sport SVR high performance SUV has been added to the brand’s Indian lineup at a whopping price of INR 2.12 crore (ex-showroom). The SUV which was created by the Jaguar Land Rover’s newly formed Special Vehicles Operations division and holds the record for the fastest SUV to lap the famed Nurburgring Nordschleife track.
Powered comes from JLR’s range-topping 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine which dishes out 542 bhp and 680 Nm of torque. The power is distributed to all the four wheels via a 8-speed automatic transmission.
Visually the Range Rover Sport SVR is differentiated from the regular variant by means of an aggressive front bumper with massive air intakes, a black finished grille, bigger wheels, rear bumper with diffuser and quad exhaust tubes, and exclusive exterior color options.
The super SUV features a suspension system (air suspension with adaptive dampers and Active Roll Control system) which is tuned for excellent handling without compromising its off road prowess. The SUV features an electronically controlled clutch in the centre differential, a two-speed low transfer case, torque vectoring, Dynamic Active Rear Locking Differential and so on.
Other features worth mentioning are variable ratio electric power steering, special 21-inch SVR alloy wheels and Brembo brakes with 6-piston calipers.
