It was during a recent Formula One factory shutdown that Red Bull Running Show car took its summer break and headed to sunny shores of US. In the video and images here, Red Bull’s RB7 F1 race car and David Coulthard, Red Bull ambassador, stopped at New York and then continued its journey through Liberty State Park where it sang the American National Anthem, Lincoln Tunnel and becoming the first F1 car to burn rubber on the Grand Prix of America Streets.
During the Lincoln tunnel shooting, the car drew a great deal of attention as it cruised at a speed of 190 mph across the stretch between New York City to New Jersey, setting a new record for the fastest journey between the two states (just 30 seconds).
Afterwards DC said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing what the final video looks like. We’ve done Liberty State Park, the Lincoln Tunnel and the racetrack for next season. Bringing all those elements together, the combination of the high-speed stuff in the car combined with the tracking shots, we’re going to end up with something that will be really entertaining for the fans. The fans are already asking me on my Twitter account when they can see the footage, so there is a lot of excitement about Formula One coming to America. Red Bull have done more than anyone to promote the fact that we’re going to have not one, but two grands prix in the States. This is a big enough country, a sophisticated audience that gets the technology of Formula One and at the moment, we are delivering good racing.”
