June sales have seen Renault India take the 6th spot among top automakers in India, behind Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata Motors and Toyota. Renault’s outstanding sales could be attributed to the increased demand for Renault Kwid hatchback which has seen a 41% month on month growth. Renault Kwid is now the fifth best-selling car in India, behind Maruti Alto, DZire, Hyundai Grand i10, and Maruti WagonR.

Further, Renault India also has ambitious plans for the year ahead with targets to sell over 1 lakh vehicles as against 54,000 units sold in 2015, while sales in 2017 are predicted at 1.8 lakhs which will allow the company to claim a market share of 5% as compared to the 3.4% share held as on date.

The Kwid is available with a range of optional accessory packages.

Honda Cars India experienced a dip in sales in June 2016 despite an attractive product range with BR-V, Jazz and the ever popular Honda City sedan which was at one time the company’s largest selling model. Honda City sales dipped from an average of 6,000 units per month to 3,581 units in June 2016. Honda BR-V sales stood at 3,064 units while Jazz sales were at just 2,593 units during the month.

Maruti Suzuki continued to claim top spot in June 2016 with sales at 92,133 units registering de-growth of 10.22% while Hyundai Motor sales increased 9.66% to 39,806 units during the month. Mahindra and Mahindra ranked at No. 3 with 17,068 units sold while sales of Tata Motors and Toyota Kirloskar increased 20% and 29.65% respectively. Tata Motors claimed back its 4th position lost in May thanks to the increased demand of the Tata Tiago while Toyota was positioned in a 5th place.
