The Renault Captur SUV is being presented at huge discounts and benefits on all variants. This is in addition to the discounts which were offered last year, when the car was being sold at a discount of Rs 81,000.
The discount amount has now increased to Rs 2.6 lakhs, on the on-road price of the top end variant. Entry level variants are being at an on-road discount of Rs 1.4 lakhs.
Renault Captur was launched back in 2017. It is a premium crossover SUV, which borrows styling cues from its global model. It is the widest and longest offering in its segment and also boasts of best in class ground clearance which stands at 210mm. An elevated driving position contributes to a panoramic view while the Renault Captur also comes in with a host of 50 premium features which are offered as standard from the base variants onwards.
On board features include projector headlamps, LED DRLs in a C shape, automatic temperature controls, integrated audio system with USB and AUX-In and safety features among which are push button start, remote central locking system, dual airbags, ABS, EBD and brake assist apart from rear defogger and rear wiper.
The Platine variant gets ultra white and gold interiors while AC vents are in chrome with gold finish. Interiors are further accentuated by quality seating in ErgoDesign leather while seats are 6 way adjustable.
The Renault Captur is offered in 7 variants – 3 petrol and 4 diesel. It is powered by a 1.5 liter H4K, 16 valve, 4 cylinder petrol engine offering 106 PS power at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. It also gets a 1.5 liter K9K diesel engine offering 110 PS power at 3,850 rpm and 240 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. Fuel efficiency stands at 13.87 kmpl and 20.37 kmpl for the petrol and diesel engine respectively.
In spite of such features and offers, Renault Captur sales report reveals surprisingly low performance. In comparison, rival Hyundai Creta registers about 10,000 units monthly sales whereas Maruti S-Cross delivers about 4,000 units a month.
