Renault to showcase 2010 DeZir electric concept at 2018 Auto Expo

Renault gears up to showcase DeZir electric car concept at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2018. The DeZir concept was first showcased at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Renault DeZir electric concept is being showcased probably because India has plans to go all electric by 2030, and the concept shows Renault’s development in EV field.

Renault DeZir concept is designed with extra emphasis on aerodynamics that will reduce drag. Complete body fairing and a rear diffuser allows the DeZir to achieve 0.25Cd. The concept weighs 830 kgs and measures 4,225mm in length, 1968mm in width and 1,163mm in height with ground clearance of 110mm.

Renault DeZir is a two door coupe with gull wing doors opening in opposite directions. It gets its power via a 24kWh lithium ion battery pack positioned just behind the bench seat. This electric motor offers 110 kW and 226 Nm torque, allows for acceleration from 0 to 50 kmph in 2 seconds and from 0 to 100 kmph in 5 seconds with an overall range of 160 kms. Stopping power is through 356mm ventilated disc brakes.

The battery takes around 8 hours for full charge and with fast charging through a 400V three phase current upto 80% in 20 minutes. The battery will also sport Kinetic Energy Recovery System or KERS for short. This is stored in the battery while decelerating and used for added power boost when necessary. The same is activated through a button on the steering wheel.
