Renault has decided to further capitalize on the success of Duster and is offering limited period price discounts on two base variants. The 4×2 85 PS RxL diesel trim that has ex-showroom Delhi price tag of 9.69 lakhs is rewritten to a special price of Rs 9.29 lakhs (Rs. 40,000 direct price cut). While 110 PS RxL AWD variant which is usually priced at Rs. 11.90 lakhs is offered at Rs. 11.29 lakhs (Rs. 61,000 direct price slash). Of course there are stars (asterisks) on top right corner of the prices.
Monthly sales of Renault Duster fluctuates between 3,000 and 3,500 units.Further, the French automaker has also put 2 years extended warranty along with (free) 4 years roadside assistance on the table.
There are fourteen variants of Renault Duster in the catalogue, of which only two are powered by petrol motor. Ex-showroom Delhi price ranges from Rs. 7.86 lakhs to Rs. 13 lakhs.
Duster petrol is propelled by 1.6 litre engine that produces max power of 102 bhp and peak torque of 145 Nm. It is linked to 5-speed manual transmission. Mileage of Renault Duster petrol is 13.24 kmpl.
Duster diesel gets 1.5 litre dCi mill in two tunes, 85PS and 110PS. Higher power version is coupled to 6-speed manual gearbox while 85 PS variants get 5-speed manual transmission. Former returns 20.45 kmpl mileage while latter delivers 19.01 kmpl.
All Wheel Drive (AWD) is available only with 110 PS diesel motor. It has shift-on-fly feature with three modes – 2WD, Auto and Lock (4WD – Lock), which Renault has labelled i-Drive. Duster AWD is claimed to deliver 19.72 kmpl mileage.
Duster is the only product in Renault India’s portfolio that sells in quadruple digits. They have four more cars, two of which sell less than 200 units a month and the remaining under 20 units. As of now, even the other models are offered with similar offers / discounts.
