The updated crossover is expected to hit the showrooms in mid-2016.

The Renault Duster facelift for the Indian market is slated to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. The mid-life refresh for the compact crossover would feature tweaked exterior, updated equipment package and a new AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) option.

Going by the international version, the cosmetic enhancements include revised headlamps, reprofiled front bumper, new alloy wheels and slightly tweaked taillights. The interior is likely to receive new color themes.

The most significant upgrade however would come in the form of the R-AMT gearbox which was spied earlier. Though Renault has both dual-clutch automatic and AMT options at its disposal, the company would choose the latter for India to keep the costs in check. The 5-speed mechanized gearbox is expected to be mated to the 110 PS diesel variant.

The Easy-R AMT transmission in the image above is paired to the 0.9-litre TCe turbo petrol motor in international markets. In India, it will be paired to the 1.5-liter diesel motor.

Rest of the powertrain lineup is expected to remain intact. The compact crossover is powered by a 104 PS 1.6-litre petrol engine which is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and a 1.5-litre diesel engine which is available in two configurations – 85 PS with 5-speed MT and 110 PS with 6-speed MT. The Duster 110 is also being offered with an AWD system.

Post its debut at the Auto Expo 2016, the Renault Duster facelift would go on sale in the country in the middle of the year. With the updated product, Renault India would be hoping to regain some of the ground lost to Hyundai Creta.
