Renault Duster Oroch is Brazil’s best pick-up truck of the year

Ever since the Renault Duster Oroch went on sale in Brazil in November, it has garnered a total of 6 awards.

Renault Duster Oroch has been awarded as the Best Pick-up of the Year at 17th Award Automotive Press 2015 conducted by Brazilian Association of Automotive Press.

Launched in Brazil from R$ 62,290 (INR 10.2 lakh), Renault Duster Oroch is a five seater vehicle based on the Duster SUV. It measures 4,700mm in length, 1,800 in width and 1,690mm in height and has a cargo space of 683 liters.

Offered in two engine options, the Oroch is powered by a 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter engine offering 110 hp and 148 hp respectively when running on ethanol. While the former is mated to a 5 speed MT, the latter has two options of a 6 speed MT or 4 speed AT. These engine options get further divided into Expression 1.6 16V, Dynamique 1.6 16V and Dynamique 2.0 16V.

Renault Duster Oroch boasts of best in class interiors with its 7” touchscreen, Media Nav Evolution system and leather wrapped multi function steering wheel besides piano black inserts on dashboard. Comfortable for upto 5 adults, the Renault Duster Oroch has a host of safety features that include dual airbags, ABS, parking sensors, cruise control and power steering. Comfort features include air conditioning along with CD MP3 Radio player, trip computer and much more.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Renault India is planning to launch the Oroch prick-up truck in India next year. Id this does happen, Duster Oroch will be produced at the Renault Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai. From here, it can also cater to South East Asian markets where the demand for pick-up trucks is considerably higher.
