Unveiled as a concept at the 2014 Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil last year, the Renault Duster pickup truck production variant will be unveiled on 18th June 2015. This will be a global premiere, which will take place in Argentina at the 2015 Buenos Aires Auto Show.
Renault Duster pickup is a double cab variant. It will sport four doors and will have a seating for five adults. Build to perform in toughest of terrains, the Duster pickup features higher ground clearance. It also comes with larger 18 inch alloys, adding to the muscular look of the car. Interiors get a similar layout to that of Duster SUV. It gets a multimedia screen for infotainment and navigation access.
As against the norm, where cars today have one rear camera, the Duster pickup has two rear cameras, oth of which can be controlled via a rotary control which is situated at the centre of the console. The same multifunction screen on the centre console is also the display screen for these cameras.
To be named Oroch, Renault Duster pickup is based on same platform as the Duster SUV. Engine specifications also remain the same. Renault Oroch will be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0 liter four cylinder gasoline engine mated either to a 6 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox. (Unlike in India, Duster is available with a 2.0l engine in the South American continent). The Oroch will be offered in both FWD and AWD drivetrains.
