Pickup trucks are the most convenient and versatile type of automobile genre. They will drive you to most places, give you large load bay to haul your cargo, powerful enough to tow trailers and they come with ladder-frame ruggedness and off-road capability.
There is a new genre of monocoque pickup trucks like Hyundai Santa Cruz, Ford Maverick, Chevy Montana, RAM Rampage, Honda Ridgeline and Renault Duster Oroch, to name a few. Now, Renault is coming up with a new pickup truck based on the new Duster and it has been spied testing in Brazil and more recently in Argentina. Let’s take a closer look.
Renault Duster Pickup Truck Spied
Based on the previous Duster SUV, Renault had carved out a more practical pickup truck version called Duster Oroch. It was launched in South American countries like Brazil and Argentina and was quite well received. With the new generation of Duster, Renault is carving out a new version of Duster Oroch.

Only this time, it may be called Renault Duster Niagara, based on the Renault Niagara concept vehicle showcased a couple of years ago. The company intends to launch it in South American markets some time in second half of 2026. Testing of this vehicle is going on in full swing in Brazil and Argentina.
The test mules spied, are fully camouflaged by the company, leaving very little room for prying eyes. When compared to Renault Duster and Boreal, the new Duster Niagara may be longer in length, featuring a longer wheelbase to accommodate a usable load bed. There might be a few innovations in the tailgate with deploying steps and others.
Same design as Duster and Boreal?
Design at the front is likely to be similar to what we saw with new Duster and Boreal. The same RENAULT badging, flat fascia, clamshell type bonnet, muscular fenders and bonnet creases, large wheels and ORVMs and others will be carried over. Even the front and rear doors might be carried over too.

Everything below C Pillars will be redesigned to adhere to pickup truck designs. The load bed will be connected to the main body, unlike traditional ladder-frame pickup trucks. Rear might get connected LED tail lights too. On the inside, the same dashboard and equipment as Boreal and Duster might be carried over.
Powering the upcoming Renault Duster pickup truck (Duster Niagara) will be a similar set of engines as Boreal and Duster. These could be the 1.3L Turbo Petrol Flex Fuel option and a 1.6L Full Hybrid Petrol engine. It could come with AWD as standard and bring slightly more grunt than its SUV counterpart.
