Renault and France’s fire service’ relationship is more than a century old having begun with the LO type fire truck. A partnership between Renault and the French Firefighters’ Federation (FNSPF) signed 2 years earlier entails practice in cutting cars and extinguishing new vehicle fires, DESINCAR support to deploy the rescue code app so firefighters can immediately access support sheets to cutting cars, vehicle donation for road rescue training, teaching vehicle donations and Renault EV training for firefighters.
Renault is carrying he campaign through its dealership network and online. Currently, Kangoo, Trafic and Master are converted by coachbuilders for fire service needs. Twizy Pompier was also introduced.
Through 2013, 200 vehicles were donated for road rescue training to France’s local fire and rescue services. France’s local fire and rescue services (SDIS) offered expert training on EV’s for firefighters. Firefighter safety is being factored into new vehicle development.
