Renault India was among the best auto majors in the country where warranty terms and conditions were concerned. This has changed with immediate effect as Renault India standard warranty has been reduced significantly.
With 4 years or 80,000 kms warranty as standard warranty across range earlier, Renault India standard warranty is down to 2 years or 50,000 kms, with effect from 2015. Those customers wishing to still take advantage of extended warranty will have to pay additional sum depending on city and vehicle.
For buyers in Mumbai, additional warranty charges for an extended 2 year period or 30,000 kms on the Duster petrol will stand at INR 10,400 while on the diesel variant this goes upto INR 10,650. Pulse buyers will have to shell out 6,150 extra for the petrol variant and 6,300 for its diesel counterpart while prices for extended warranty for Scala is at 7,450, for Fluence additional warranty charges are INR 19,200 while for Koleos it is at INR 26,500.
This move comes about a few weeks before the market launch of Lodgy MPV, which is scheduled to take place in April 2015. Set to compete with Mahindra Xylo, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Enjoy, Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy will receive a 1.5 litre diesel engine in two tunes – 85 PS and 110 PS. The 85 PS variant will come with 5 speed manual transmission, while the 110 PS variant will get a 6 speed manual gearbox. The 110 PS variant will be the most powerful MPV in its segment in India.

It was showcased at Renault Star Guild Awards function in Mumbai by Anil Kapoor, where Hrithik Roshan was announced as its first customer in India. Renault Lodgy will be available in a speculated price range of INR 7-10 lakhs.
