Renault India to embark on second chapter of car marketing strategy


French auto manufacturers Renault are all set to enter their second stage of planning market strategy for India.  Renault launched their Fluence and Koleos SUV recently bring to a conclusion their first stage of planned strategy.  Now, the company is planning to introduce new cars in the smaller segment on the V platform similar to Nissan Micra, and Sunny.  These are expected to hit markets by early 2012.

These two cars from Renault are likely to offer come competition to the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i20.  Renault is also planning an entry level SUV called Duster during early 2012 which will contest with Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari.

Towards the end of 2012, Renault will bring another sedan to the Indian car market. This will be their fifth product planned for the future. Mr. Len Curran, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Renault India said that the company was looking at a target of in lakh units in the next two years.  The two proposed vehicles will be launched in India first.
