Renault is looking to expand its presence in Crossover SUV market with a new product named Kadjar. And they have an explanation for the name that stands out.
Name of Renault Kadjar is arrived at using bits and pieces of words all implying off-roading. It is made by joining two madu-up words or rather syllables KAD- and –JAR. KAD- is the sound of ‘quad’ which represents a go-anywhere kind of four wheeled vehicle, and –JAR hints at French words ‘agile’ and ‘jaillir’ representing agility and impromptu emergence. The French automaker suggests that the sound and spelling of the name Kadjar have an exotic feel proposing adventure and discovering new horizons. Renault adds that the initial litter ‘K’ in Kadjar is used to fit the new crossover seamlessly between Captur and Koleos.
Renault Kadjar is believed to be based on the same Common Module Family (CMF) platform that underpins the new second-generation Nissan Qashqai. Exterior of Kadjar would resemble Captur in more than one aspect while the cabin structure would resemble that of Qashqai’s.
