Renault Kadjar unveiled, global premiere at 2015 Geneva Motor Show
Renault Kadjar compact SUV is developed to slot in between existing Captur and Koleos models, to expand the company’s presence in urban crossover class of vehicles.
Exterior of Renault Kadjar is highly reminiscent of Captur, with some design cues taken from DeZir concept as well; while its rear end looks a lot like Clio. Interior is very much new compared to exterior, and is said to be treated with high quality materials. Colour scheme is full black with subtle silver accents. Highlight inside the cabin is R-Link 2 multimedia system.
The C-segment crossover is based on Renault-Nissan’s CMF (Common Module Family) platform that also underpins Nissan Qashqai. Engine options are not revealed yet, the newbie gets Four Wheel Drive configuration switchable to 2WD . For adventure purposes, the car is given complete underbody shield (protection) and 19 inch alloy wheels (at extra price).
Renault Kadjar is destined to start selling in Europe and several African and Mediterranean Basin markets from summer, after which it will arrive at UK and China. The model is set to be known as the first Renault to be manufactured in China. For Europe, it will be produced in Palencia, Spain.
