Launched in September 2015 with an 800 cc three-cylinder petrol engine, the Renault Kwid received two new variants in 2016. Both new variants were powered by a 1.0 liter petrol engine, one mated to a manual transmission while the other mated to a AMT.
The company is celebrating the success of Renaul Kwid by launching a new special edition Kwid called Live For More Edition. The new Renault Kwid Live For More Edition is on offer with select variants of 800 cc as well as 1 liter Kwid. Price starts from INR 2.67 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Speaking about updated, it features 10 new enhancements. These are;
– Dual-tone Speedster / Sportz / Rallycross Graphics running across the hood, roof and sides of the car
– Special styling and a colour combination consisting of Black, Dark Grey with Lime accents for light body colour and Black, Silver with Lime accents for Dark Body Colour
– Steel silver -accentuated front grille inserts and the wheel covers get a dash of electric lime accents as well
– Dual-tone arching roof bars and lime streak ORVMs
– Live For More insignia on the door
Other than that, features on offer are – Driver airbag (optional), Touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB, Bluetooth audio streaming and aux-in, Front speakers (2), 12V power socket, Remote keyless entry with central locking, Front power windows, Dual-tone dashboard, Foldable backrest, Rear parcel tray, Front fog lamps, Passenger side ORVMs, Body-colour bumpers.
The new 1.0-litre variant Renault Kwid is made for customers who are looking for a powerful car in the entry level segment. It is pitted against the likes of 1.0-litre variants of the Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon. Kwid’s 1.0L engine delivers 68 PS power, and delivers a mileage of 23.01 kmpl (the 800 cc Kwid delivers 53 hp and 25.17 kmpl). This makes the new Kwid 1.0L with best in class power to weight ratio, delivering 97 PS / ton.
The new three-cylinder engine which is also developed primarily in India like rest of the Kwid’s platform is paired with a 5-speed manual as well as an Easy-R AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

Dimension, interiors, exteriors, features list, remain same as that of the cheaper 800 cc Kwid. It is surprising that Renault India is not offering ABS or passenger side airbag with Kwid 1.0L, both these are standard features on the Brazil-spec Renault Kwid, which is also more than 100 kgs heavier than Indian counterpart, making it more safer.
