One of the largest auto shows in South East Asia, Delhi Auto Expo will be host to two new variants of Renault Kwid.

Renault Kwid AMT and 1.0L variants will be making their official debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, slated to be held at Greater Noida from February 5-9, 2016. While these two models will be showcased, launch dates will be announced thereafter.

Renault Kwid AMT which could launch sometime by mid 2016 will rival Maruti Alto while the Kwid with the new 1.0 liter engine will take on Hyundai Eon 1.0, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, WagonR and Celerio. The current engine on Renault Kwid is a 799cc three cylinder petrol unit offering 53.2 bhp power at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm torque.

The specifications of the 1.0 liter unit are yet not confirmed but estimates put it in the category of 75 PS peak power. This variant will sport additional features such as ABS and dual front airbags. Renault is also set to bring in larger tyres, retractable seat belts and twin wipers on the new Kwid which are not seen on its current counterpart. Apart from this, more attention will be paid to better NVH levels with the present model being criticized for its engine noise.

Renault has also announced price hike across range from the New Year. This price hike follows rising input costs and will also include the new Renault Kwid AMT and 1.0 liter variants besides the Lodgy, Pulse, Scala, Duster, Fluence and Koleos.
