At the ICIA Gallery, Kala Ghoda, Indian origin French artist Shombit Sengupta unveiled the first ever Renault Kwid Art Car. The inauguration was done by Yves Perrin, Consul General of France in Mumbai.
Renaul Kwid Art Car will next head to Barbizon, France next month. Also known as the Artists Village, Barbizon is where the modern art was cradled since 1870. Post this, Kwid Art Car will travel some of the biggest international auto shows around the world.
In India, Renault Kwid was first launched back in Sep 2015. In a little over 1 year, the car has amassed almost 200,000 bookings. Available in two engine options, Kwid has successfully managed to reduce the stronghold of Maruti Alto in the entry-level car segment.
As of today, Kwid is only offered with a manual transmission option. In a few days, Renault will also announced the launch of Kwid AMT.
Renault India is one of the fastest growing car maker in India, all thanks to the new Kwid. They recently increased prices across its range of passenger vehicles on sale in India. Renault India sells the Kwid, Pulse, Scala, Lodgy and Duster in India all falling within a price bracket of INR 2.64 and 13.77 lakhs. Renault India Operations Country CEO and MD Sumit Sawhney said that the price hike is due to higher input costs.
