Renault Group reports 1.57 million vehicles sold in H1 2016, an increase of 13.4 percent over H1 2015. This is a new half year high for Renault and Dacia. Market share was up 0.3 points at 3.5 percent.
Outside Europe, Renault Group bookings were up 12.5 percent. Momentum in the Africa Middle-East India region was strong. Sales in all regions grew faster than their market.
In the Africa Middle-East India region, Group registrations were up by 38.2 percent with market share of 5.4 percent. Sales in the Africa Middle East India region was reported at 2,08,690 units sold through Jan-June 2016 over 1,51,041 units sold in Jan- June 2015.
The company reports strong momentum in markets in India, Turkey, Argentina and Iran, with an increase in market share in each region.
Renault India sees Kwid go from strength to strength having launched only late in 2015. To date, 150,000 Kwid orders have been placed. Sales momentum has helped boost market share by 2.3 points upto 3.8 percent at 61,895 units sold between January – June 2016 over 23,346 units sold through Jan – June 2016. Sales growth for H 2016 stood at 165 percent for Renault India.Renault India reported 173 percent sales growth in June 2016.
The Kwid is available with a range of optional accessory packages.Domestic sales for the month stood at 11,837 units over 4,340 units sold in June 2015. India is the 8th largest market for Renault Group in terms of volumes.
Through H2 2016, Renault looks forward to gaining traction from across its many markets through its renewed car range. This includes Talisman, Megane and Scenic in Europe, Kwid in India, Kaptur in Russia, Kadjar in China and SM6 in Korea. The Group confirms its objectives for 2016 and is enthused about its multiple launches across markets to continue to grow its sales.
