Renault Kwid Climber launch price INR 4.30 lakh – Watch TVC

Renault Kwid has been a much in demand compact hatchback in the company lineup. It has been a game changer and volume driver for the company, allowing market share to grow to 4.5% in 2016. Regaled by first time car buyers in the country and in demand in both urban and rural India has allowed total sales to exceed the 1,30,000 unit mark to date.

Initially, Renault launched the Kwid with a 0.8 liter engine after which it came in with 1.0 liter MT and Easy-R AMT variants. Renault India has now launched launch yet another variant of the Kwid. This is in the form of Kwid Climber Edition. Manual variant price starts from INR 4.30 lakh, while that of AMT variant price starts from INR 4.60 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi.

Renault Kwid Climber Edition will come with as many as 17 new features / updates. These includes new front bumper with faux skid plates, orange inserts on the skid plate, orange accents on the roof rails, orange ORVM, black cladding around the fog lamps, new alloys, new blue exterior colour. Interiors too feature orange accents on the gear lever, door panels, seats and center console. Climber brand name is stitched on to the fabric seats in orange.

Directed at customers across tier II-IV markets, the Renault Kwid sees some first in segment features. It boasts of increased cabin and boot space, excellent power to weight ratio and state of the art technology. Its higher ground clearance allows for better performance on Indian roads. In terms of infotainment, the Renault Kwid sees an SUV inspired design with 7” touchscreen MediaNAV system, a digital instrument cluster and safety features that include one touch lane change indicator, pro sense seat belt pre-tensioners with load limiters and radio speed dependent volume control.

Renault Kwid Climber Edition will be offered with 1.0 liter engine option, in both manual and AMT options. The engine gets 4 valves per cylinder in a DOHC layout allowing the engine to use power at low end, mid range and high end rev brands. This technology enhances performance both in city and highway driving conditions. This variant also gets new Speed-Sport designer graphics on its doors while ORVMs are finished in a two tone gloss grey color.

The 1.0 liter SCe three cylinder petrol engine offers 68PS power at 5,500 rpm and 91 Nm torque at 4,250 rpm mated to a 5 speed manual or Easy R 5 speed automated manual transmission. ARAI has rated fuel efficiency of this engine at 24.04 kmpl.
