Renault India portfolio comprises of Kwid, Pulse, Scala, Duster, Lodgy, Fluence and Koleos. Price of all these cars will be increased by up to 3% starting 1st January 2017. All three variants of Kwid – 800cc, 1 liter MT and 1 liter AMT will be affected by the price hike.
Renault Kwid, the company’s biggest launch in 2015 has seen overwhelming demand with 1.5 lakh bookings. Sales of Kwid now average at 10,000 units a month. This huge demand has led to a waiting period of up to 6 months.
Renault India increased production of Kwid to 10,000 units in order to meet the growing demand, but still waiting period remains high. All those customers who have booked their car when the price was not hiked, will now have to pay a higher price.
Launch price of Renault Kwid started from INR 2.56 lakhs back in 2015. Post the latest price hike, it will start from INR 2.65 lakh. New Renault Kwid boasts of best in class cabin and boot space. Engine is in the form of a new 800cc petrol engine offering 54 bhp power and 72 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Mileage claimed stands at 25.7 kmpl thus making Kwid the most fuel efficient petrol car in the country.
Renault Kwid is also offered with a 1 liter engine option. This variant is only offered with the top of the line RxT trim. It is further divided in two transmission options, one MT and the other is AMT.
