Renault Kwid Zoomcar subscription launched – Price Rs 15k a month

In adding yet another vehicle option to its shared subscription mobility space in India, Zoomcar has announced a strategic partnership with Renault. With the move, Zoomcar will now make available a Renault Kwid fleet on its platform.

Those subscribing can avail of a Renault Kwid at a monthly subscription fee of Rs 14,999. With this, Zoomcar plans to add more than 1,000 Renault cars to its operating fleet by 2020.

The subscription plan is designed to benefit participants. Once on board, subscribers can list their Renault Kwid on Zoomcar’s self-drive platform. This help them the self-drive bookings platform, which has a 15 million customer base for short-term rentals. This falls under Zoomcar’s leasing programme – ZAP.

Renault Kwid was launched in India in 2015, and has breached the 3 lakh customers’ landmark here. Power comes from a 3-cyl, DOHC, 4-valve, 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine that returns max power of 54 bhp, and 72 Nm of torque.

There is a more powerful engine on offer as well. The 3-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve, 1.0-litre petrol engine returns max power of 67 bhp, and 91 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre engine gets a 5-speed AT option.

In time, Zoomcar would extend more Renault vehicles to its customers, including crossovers and SUVs. At present, the Zoomcar platform offers 25 car variants from varied manufacturers under its regular rental model, as well as, its shared subscription mobility model.

The shared subscription mobility segment getting a boost owing to its hassle-free ownership appeal, limited liabilities, and flexibility. Only recently, Zoomcar introduced the Volkswagen Polo shared subscription plan.
