Revealed for the first time at Renault Star Guild Awards among a host of actors, directors and producers from Bollywood, new Renault Lodgy Multi Purpose Vehicle has found its first customer in Superstar Hrithik Roshan. Anil Kapoor shared a short drive onto stage with Hrithik and Sumit Sawhney in the run up to key handover.
Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations drew attention to the innovative features on board the new Renault Lodgy that is set to redefine the MPV segment in the country. Renault Lodgy looks to redefine the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment by delivering the best in performance. Renault India looks to Drive the Change with Lodgy as it did with Duster in past years.
India spec Renault Lodgy will receive a 1.5 liter K9K diesel engine offering 85 bhp peak power which is seen on the Duster and a number of other Renault offerings. Though not yet confirmed, a 1.6 liter petrol engine offering 103 bhp is also being planned. Upon launch, Renault Lodgy will compete with a host of MPVs in India that include Chevrolet Enjoy, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia, Honda Mobilio and Mahindra Xylo. No confirmation on pricing as on date, but Renault Lodgy price would have to be competitive to eke out a living in segment that’s getting crowded.
