Renault and Nissan, placed at No. 11 and No. 12 respectively on the OEM-wise sales charts for December 2025, have reported contrasting sales performances in India. Renault ended the month on a positive note with strong double-digit year-on-year growth, while Nissan continued to see a decline in volumes, remaining heavily dependent on a single product.
Renault Sales Breakup – December 2025
Renault recorded total sales of 3,845 units in December 2025, marking a 33.46% year-on-year growth over the 2,881 units sold in December 2024. Month-on-month performance was also positive, with volumes rising 5% from 3,662 units in November 2025.

The Renault Triber continued to be the brand’s top-selling model, accounting for 2,324 units, which translated to a 40% YoY growth and a 12.6% MoM increase. Triber alone contributed over 60% of Renault’s total monthly sales, underlining its importance in the brand’s India strategy.
The Renault Kiger delivered an even stronger YoY performance, with sales nearly doubling to 1,152 units, up from 594 units in December 2024. Month-on-month sales remained flat, indicating steady demand despite broader market volatility. In contrast, the Renault Kwid saw a sharp decline, with sales falling to 369 units, down over 41% YoY and 17% MoM, reflecting weakening demand in the entry-level hatchback segment.

Nissan Sales Breakup – December 2025
Nissan’s performance continued to remain subdued. The brand sold 1,902 units in December 2025, reflecting a 10.2% YoY decline compared to 2,117 units sold in December 2024. Month-on-month sales were virtually flat, dipping marginally by 0.31% from November 2025.
The Magnite remains Nissan’s only volume contributor in India, accounting for 100% of the brand’s sales. While the compact SUV has helped Nissan stay relevant in the market, the lack of additional models continues to limit growth.
Upcoming Launches
Looking ahead, Renault India is preparing for the return of the Duster, scheduled to debut on 26 January 2026. The new-generation Duster will enter a highly competitive midsize SUV segment dominated by models such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra and Toyota Hyryder. Globally, Renault is also expanding its SUV portfolio with models like the Filante SUV and the upcoming Rafale Coupe-SUV, though India launch plans for these remain unconfirmed.
Nissan is expected to address this with upcoming launches, including the Tekton compact SUV, which will compete in the 4.2–4.4 metre SUV segment, and the Gravite MPV, a new three-row offering based on the CMF-A platform. More clarity on Nissan’s product roadmap is expected later this month, with key announcements lined up for 21 January 2026.
