Rolls Royce Dawn, an uber luxurious convertible (Drophead in RR’s lingo), is all set to embrace the digital platform when it launches online on September 8. Going by the spyshots, Dawn is essentially a convertible version of Wraith Coupe.
The name was used by Rolls Royce previously for 28 Drophead models between 1949 to 1954. The latest product retains Wraith’s wheelbase and two door layout. The front and rear fascia design have clearly been inspired by Ghost.
Mechanically, Rolls Royce Dawn is expected to stay identical to Wraith which is powered by a mighty 6.6-litre twin turbocharged V12 petrol engine capable of 624 bhp. Wraith is marketed as the most dynamic Rolls Royce ever and it’s natural to expect the same character in its convertible sibling as well.
It goes without saying that Rolls Royce will offer limitless bespoke options for both exterior and interior for Dawn. The price of a standard model is likely to start at around 250,000 pounds (around INR 2.53 cr).
Rolls Royce Dawn would make its first public appearance at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show which opens it doors for the media on September 15. Deliveries are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2016.
