Rolls Royce Phantom Serenity teased, India to get their new convertible

Rolls Royce is planning to launch a new convertible, that will build on the success of Phantom, Ghost and Wraith. This piece of news was first revealed back in 2014. Now, at the South India launch of Ghost Series II, Sven J Ritter, GM, Asia Pacific, Rolls Royce, has confirmed that this new convertible will also be launched in India, simultaneous to its global launch in 2016. This proves how important a role India plays as a market for Rolls Royce.

Not revealing any further info on the new convertible, he did say that the upcoming convertible will be an epitome of style, grace, styling and will offer an exhilarating driving experience due to its open top.

 Rolls Royce Ghost Series II in India.

Speaking about the newly launched Rolls Royce Ghost Series II in Chennai, South India; this second generation Ghost Series is priced at INR 4.50 crores and brought into India via the CBU route. Ghost Series II receives various upgrades and outstanding features which include new LED headlamps, framed daytime running lights and new bonnet and bumper design. Ghost Series II is powered by a V12 engine offering peak power of 563 hp at 5,250 rpm and 780 Nm torque at 1,500 rpm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 4.9 seconds while top speed stands at 250 kmph.

Internationally, Rolls Royce has teased a new special edition, which will debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next week. Called, Rolls Royce Phantom Serenity, it celebrates “historical role played by silk as a symbol of regal and imperial power”. Phantom Serenity will be a one off model to cater to the demands of the rich and famous. It will come in a contemporary interpretation of European furniture along with Japanese Royal Kimono designs.

Created by Rolls Royce Motor Cars Bespoke Design Team, silken accents will be the highlight of the Phantom Serenity’s interiors which will boast of bespoke instrument dials, smoked cherry wood accents and the finest silken floor mats. Silk seats will have a silk cherry blossom headliner and mother of pearl inlays. More details of this exclusive one off model will be available once it is unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show being held from March 3-15, 2015.
