Customized Royal Enfield Bullet food truck business gets INR 10 lakh funding

Having received name and fame for their Streety Treats food truck in North Bengaluru, four commerce students now take the food truck trend even further with ‘Barbecue Ride India’.

The food truck trend is fast gaining popularity in the country. Riding on this wave, the company founded by Arun Varma, his brother Krishna Kumar Varma and two friends, Manogna Chaudary and Syeed Mujeeb – ‘BBQ Ride’ has seen their share of success. The students have previously owned three food trucks and a Tata Nano based ice cream car which has seen much response in Bengaluru instigating the team to take on new initiatives.

‘Barbecue Ride India’ offers fresh and tasty barbeques on a 500cc Royal Enfield Classic while to drive their business even further the four students have received funding to the extent of INR 10 lakhs. They have even received 7 pre-orders for these BBQ ready bikes. The team has entered into four franchisee deals in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Pune for the BBQ Bullet while they are also in talks with three others in Kolkata and are hoping to sign more deals soon.

Their customized Royal Enfield Classic receives an attached BBQ pit, a 5 kg LPG cylinder and two food grade boxes to carry meats and dry ice which keeps it fresh. The metal fabrication done on the bike is sturdy while the side car is well built and solid. The food is tasty and cooked on coal and firewood and is oil free which attracts a range of health conscious customers.

Traffic congestion in the city and finding a parking spot is the major challenge facing food truck owners but with BBQ Bullet, the team can take their business to other locations where competitors find difficult to reach.
