Ace Café London to Madras Café: Royal Enfield Continental GT India launch details and Rider Mania 2013 (Video)
The video shows a team of riders astride the Royal Enfield Continental GT taking off from the Ace Café, London and finishing its 11,000km journey at the Madras Café in India, which is located close to the Royal Enfield plant in Tamil Nadu where the GT is built. The journey spans continents and captures the true spirit of biking and adventure on what is termed as the lightest, fastest and most powerful Royal Enfield to date.
Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 is powered by a 535cc, fuel injected, air cooled motor offering peak power of 29.1 bhp and peak torque of 44 Nm. The engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission while the bike receives conventional forks up front, Paioli gas charged twin shock absorbers at the rear and sits on 18” spoke wheels with Pirelli Sport Demon tyres. It is expected that 2014 Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 Cafe Racer would go on sale in India with a price tag of INR 2 lakhs.
In November 2013, Royal Enfield’s annual biker fest, called Rider Mania is set to take place in Goa. The event will see riders from across India ride to Goa for the annual meet. It is here that the bikers will have a blast for three days, 22-24 Nov 2013, where there will be beer drinking contest along with various biking competitions such as Dirt Track Trials, Figure 8, Slow Race, Carry you Bike, Cleanest Bike, Assembly, Arm Wrestling, etc.
Immediately thereafter, Royal Enfield has scheduled a media ride event of the new Continental GT. We also expect the Continental GT to be the star attraction at 2013 Rider Mania. The official media ride event is scheduled from 25-27th Nov 2013, in Goa. No official word has been spoken about the launch date yet.
