The motorcycle and sidecar used in the chase sequence in the Harry Potter movie “Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows Part 1″, will be on display at Museum of Liverpool till 9th June.
The now famous motorcycle with magical powers will regale audience and bring back memories of the chase filmed in the road tunnel under Mersey River linking Liverpool with Brikenhead on the opposite bank.
The bike which is on loan to the Museum of Liverpool from the Warner Bros. Studios belonged to Harry Potter’s friend Rubeus Hagrid, gatekeeper at Hogwart’s School, played by Robbie Coltrane.
In the film, the motorcycle was originally owned by Harry’s godfather Sirius Black. It is seen in a prime role in the film as Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe and Hagrid chase each other through the underground tunnel.
The motorcycle in reality is a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 with a manufacturing year of 2009. It sports a 499cc petrol engine and was imported from India specially for the scene. It was modified for the film and a sidecar was fitted for extra effect.
