Royal Enfield Himalayan launched in Australia at $7,190 (INR 3.64 lakh)

At the Melbourne Moto Expo 2016, Royal Enfield has announced the launch of their Himalayan for the Australian market. Priced from $7,190 (INR 3.64 lakh), the motorcycle made its global debut earlier this year in India.

Custom-made for those riders who want to travel the world on a motorcycle, no matter the distance or terrain. Royal Enfield claims that the Himalayan is a true adventure motorcycle built to last any terrain the rider throws at it.

Before Himalayan, such a bike would have set you back by a couple of lakhs, cause the options in the entry level are the likes of Benelli 600 GT, Kawasaki Versys 650, Triumph Tiger 800, and so on. What Royal Enfield has done, is designed a bike which will be similar in characteristics to the names above, but will also be easy on the pocket.

Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by LS400, a single cylinder 410 cc oil-cooled engine which is rated at 25 hp and 32 Nm. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, RE claims that service intervals are at 10,000 kms, while spark plug change is required at 25,000 kms.
