Showcased in Delhi a few days ago, Royal Enfield Himalayan is now making its way into company dealerships across India as you read this. To be positioned below the Continental GT 535, Himalayan is expected to come in with a price tag of INR 1.65 to INR 1.85 lakh.
It will be an all new 411cc oil cooled, single cylinder engine powering the Royal Enfield Himalayan offering 24.5 bhp peak power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm torque at 4,000-4,500 rpm mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Measuring 2,190mm in length, 840 mm in width and 1,360mm in height, the new Himalayan sits on a wheelbase of 1,465mm, has ground clearance of 220mm and weighs 182kgs with a 15-litre tank capacity. Sporting 41mm front forks and mono-shock at the rear, 21” and 17” wheels are evident at the front and rear respectively.
Onboard features include a single halogen headlamp, new four-pot instrument cluster displaying analog speedometer, analog tachometer and fuel gauge along with a digital screen displaying time, trip readings, temperature, odometer and digital compass.
