Royal Enfield enters Indonesia with an exclusive store in Jakarta. This is a part of the company expansion strategy globally, while targeting buyers in the mid sized (250-750cc) motorcycle segment.
Showcasing its entire line-up of existing motorcycles at GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show – GIIAS, the company has also announced the launch of their protective riding gear and apparels. The RE line-up today includes Bullet 300cc, Bullet 500 CC, Electra, Classic 350cc, Classic 500cc, Thunderbird 350cc, Thunderbird 500cc and Continental GT cafe racer.
The new showroom in Jakarta is opened in association with PT Distributor Motor Indonesia, through whom, besides sales, the company will also be conducting all service and after market facilities.
These expansion plans are a part of the company’s foray into markets in Latin America and South East Asia. Royal Enfield sees much potential in Indonesia with its large commuter base. Royal Enfield wishes to introduce its modern classic bike range in the country and depending on response received, will be expanding presence to other key cities in the country.
Global sales of Royal Enfield during 2014 touched 3 lakh units with the company targeting 4.50 lakh units in 2015. The company aims to plan an adventure touring motorcycle this year, which is known as the Himalayan (unofficially).
