The soon to be launched Royal Enfield Interceptor and Continental GT 650 twins are on display at showrooma in the UK and Australia. The Indian retro classic motorcycle maker has used the opportunity to reveal new liveries, hinting that the buyers would be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing the color themes.
The new livery with white-red dual-tone fuel tank and black side panels augments the Interceptor’s classic appeal. The black finish for the spoke feels certainly adds a sporty touch to the new Royal Enfield.
The Continental GT 650 is adorned with a grey-black color theme with a dash of yellow. Like it’s sibling, the cafe racer too gets black finished spoke wheels. It has to be said that the new Royal Enfield logo gels with both the liveries.
The Interceptor and Continental GT 650 are powered by Royal Enfield’s brand new 648 cc parallel twin SOHC fuel-injected engine which is rated at 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. Gearbox is a 6-speed unit.
Both motorcycles are equipped with regular telescopic front fork and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. The front and rear disc brakes benefit from standard ABS. Slipper clutch is another noteworthy mechanical feature.
Bookings for the twins have commenced in the UK, signalling that Europe would be high on the priority list for the flagship Royal Enfields but India would certainly be one the first few markets since the motorcycles are made here.
The RE 650 Twins are estimated to have a price tag of 6000 pounds (around INR 5.13 lakhs) in the UK. Expect them to retail at around INR 3-4 lakh in the local market.
