Eicher Group’s Royal Enfield has commenced its North American operations by setting up its head quarters and its first American company owned outlet at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It’s to be noted that the city also hosts the global head quarters of iconic American cruiser maker Harley Davidson.
Royal Enfield North America is headed by ex-Harley Davidson veteran Rod Copes, whose is responsible for establishing the brand in the affordable end of the country’s two wheeler market.
Mr. Copes stated that the company will gradually set up its directly owned stores in key metropolitan areas across the US in addition to setting up its independent network of dealerships.
The first dealership in Milwaukee commenced operations earlier this week. Royal Enfield America currently sells Bullet 500, Classic 500, and Continental GT motorcycles with prices ranging between USD 4,995 – 5,995 (around INR 3.26 – 3.92 lakhs).
The Indian retro classic two wheeler maker had been selling its motorcycles in North America through an appointed distributor but from now on, vehicles will be sold to dealerships directly by the company. Royal Enfield North America would directly involve in brand development, sales, marketing, after sales service, etc.
The new company in North America is Royal Enfield’s first direct distribution subsidiary outside India and the move is crucial to achieve the goal of world domination in medium displacement motorcycle segment.
Below is the list of RE dealerships in the US, excluding the newly launched one in Milwaukee.
