Royal Enfield sales in August 2019 is reported at 48,909 units. Down 29.25 percent from 68,909 units sold in Aug ’18. MoM sales decline is marginal at 0.87 percent on the back of weak sales of 49,182 units sold a month earlier.
Classic 350 sales is down a whopping 47.47 percent. And with that, it’s wiped out a big chunk of RE total sales. Classic 350 sales volume has contracted to 23,433 units, down from 44,610 units sold a year earlier. MoM sales decline is reported at 20.40 percent, down from 29,439 units sold in July 2019.
Bullet 350 sales growth is reported at 10.71 percent. Sales volume stands at 11,824 units, up from 10,680 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales growth is reported at 36.22 percent, up from 8,680 units sold the month earlier. Launch of cheaper variants of Bullet 350, called the X 350; seems to have helped with this growth.
Electra 350 sales is reported at almost 5k units. Sales growth of 101.21 percent has helped the company post sales of 4,998 units, up from 2,484 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales growth is reported at 157.23 percent, up from 1,943 units sold a month earlier.
Of its 350cc range, Thunderbird’s performance has been the weakest. Sales decline of 48.22 percent has result in volume contraction to 3,843 units, down from 7,422 units sold a year earlier. MoM sales decline is reported at 14.05 percent, down from 4,471 units sold in July 2019.
Royal Enfield 650 Twins have no base figure to gauge performance by but its likely an average monthly sales of more than 2k units is being maintained. August 2019 sales is reported at 2,172 units. MoM sales decline is reported at 2.38 percent, down from 2,225 units sold the month earlier.
Royal Enfield Himalayan sales has grown 207.25 percent. Sales base of a mere 538 units is the reason for this. August 2019 Himalayan sales is reported at 1,653 units. moM sales growth is up at 2.10 percent from 1,619 units sold in July 2019. Classic 500 sales has more than halved. Sales decline at 57.66 percent sees volume contraction down to 702 units from 1,658 units sold in Aug ’18. MoM sales growth is reported at 11.96 percent, up from 627 units sold the month before.
The other two 500cc offerings that complete the top 10 bikes list for Royal Enfield sold less than a 100 units each last month. Thunderbird 500 sales is reported at 70 units at sales decline of 81.53 percent, down from 379 units sold in August of 2018. MoM sales decline stands at 16.67 units, down from 84 units sold the month earlier. Bullet 500 sales is reported at 57 units, down 76.54 percent from 243 units sold a year earlier. MoM sales decline is reported at 39.36 units, down from 94 units sold in July 2019.
