Scania India promises two Premium Products at 2016 Auto Expo

The 2016 Auto Show, scheduled from February 5-9, 2016 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida will see Scania Commercial Vehicles India Private Limited put forth two new flagship products. These two products are in the premium category while the company will also be showcasing the R580 with a V8 engine. R580 is a powerful on road truck that has been certified under the category of Puller by ARAI.

Scania India, a leader in the Indian commercial vehicle market is set to expand its offerings in Sustainable Transport Solutions. The company has a range of on road haulage trucks in its company lineup, each of which have been specially designed to suite the demands of buyers in the country.

Starting with the R580V8 puller, the Scania range of haulage trucks also includes G 460 6×4, G410 6×2 besides the off-road P 410 8×4 Mining and Coal Tipper. Scania is in a partnership with Larsen and Toubro for its Mining range while the company has a bus segment that consists of Scania Metro link 12, 13.7 and 14.5 m. Actively involved in mobility solutions run on biofuels, Scania has handed over first ethanol run Green Bus in India to Nagpur in 2014 while the company has introduced an engine that complies with Bharat Stage V.

Scania India operates from its industrial facility in Narasapura, Bangalore which was inaugurated in October 2013 while the first bus plant was opened in March 2015. The facility includes a workshop and central parts warehouse at this site. Current production capacities stand at 2,500 trucks and 1,000 buses which the company expects to increase two fold to 5,000 trucks and 2,500 buses by the year 2020.
