Sources have whispered that Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS is done with pre-production testing and is good for launch soon. What’s more interesting is that 200 SS will feature Bosch’s low cost ABS, developed for enhancing the safety of economical motorcycles.Pulsar 200 SS will get ABS as well as non-ABS variants. Price of latter is expected to be around Rs. 1.05 lakhs, while the former could wear price tag of Rs. 1.15 lakhs (ex-showroom). The narrow difference in price unlike other sport bikes (such as Honda CBR 250R with price gap of around Rs. 30,000) will be the result of equipping low cost Bosch single-channel ABS which governs only the front wheel. Although rear wheel will benefit from disc brake, Pulsar 200 SS will feature ABS only on the front, which is tuned to be sufficient for taking care of safety during heavy braking on slippery surface.

Although it is referred to as low cost Bosch ABS (actual term being Bosch ABS light), the system uses components that are used in high-performance Bosch systems. Software is also similar but economised for entry-level market. Bottom line, for the performance capability of the bikes, this Bosch ABS light would ensure immense safety compared to non-ABS variants, to be proven in Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS.
