Young Indian rider Sarath Kumar has benefitted from a much needed break which sees him taking to the riding circuit during the Spanish Moto3 Championships as he begins to race with Monlau Competicion. Sarath Kumar is the only Indian rider to take part in the Moto GP event and will now be seen taking part in an international event for a third consecutive year.
For the championship, Sarath Kumar will be riding a Suter Honda Moto3, 250cc 4-stroke prototype race bike powered by a 250cc four stroke Honda engine. The 21 year old rider is being promoted by south India actor R. Sarath Kumar who also heads the SK-Sarath69 sports management firm. The firm was founded with the aim of nurturing talent for all types of sporting disciplines being practiced all over the globe. Considering that the Spanish Moto3 Championship has proved to be a superb stepping stone for renowned Moto GP riders like Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner, Dani Perdosa and Marc Marquez.
Alex Marquez won the Spanish Moto3 Championship for Monlau Competicion last year. Back in 2011, Sarath Kumar became the 1st Indian to race in the MotoGP 125CC World Championship with Mahindra Racing, the 1st Indian team to do so. Last year, he participated in the Italian Championship 125GP Class and finish on the podium at the Monza circuit.
