Skoda’s new 2013 Octavia is going to be revealed officially in Prague in a few days. To keep the buzz surrounding the new Octavia, Skoda has started releasing teasers on Facebook. But, thanks journalists who were invited for the 2013 Octavia media drive in Portugal, the car has been fully revealed, including interiors.
Borrowing styling from various luxury vehicles in the Volkswagen lineup, 2013 Skoda Octavia is seen with a new tail light design and window pane on rear door. Riding on the new MQB platform, also seen on VW Golf, Seat Leon, and Audi A3, the new Octavia will be lighter by 20% with improved efficiency and will also see enhanced features.
Skoda Octavia 3rd gen, will make its debut in Prague, Czech Republic in a few days and will be powered by engines that are seen in the seventh generation Golf. These in all probability, will be a 1.4 liter 138 bhp petrol engine and a 1.6 liter TDI diesel engine. Skoda is also expected to release a vRS 220 bhp 2.0 liter TSI petrol version. Power will be transmitted to all four wheels through a six speed manual or six speed automatic transmission.
Pricing, considering its enhanced features will obviously be higher than the model currently in circulation and the company has promised to bring this new Octavia III to India sometime in 2013 where it will be known as the Laura. Driving review of Skoda Octavia 2013, too has been revealed.
