Internationally, Skoda launched the Octavia Black Edition some time back. For India, Skoda has launched a similar version, called the Onyx Edition.
The India-spec Skoda Octavia Onyx is seen with some exterior updates that include blackened 16 inch alloy wheels, New attractive body colour spoiler, new decorative foils, door sills and decorative black exterior mirrors.
In terms of safety features the new Skoda Octavia Onyx Edition will be seen with 12 way adjustable driver seat and parking assist along with a total of 6 airbags.
Available for a limited period, the Skoda Octavia Onyx Edition will see no change in its engine specifications. It will be presented in both petrol and diesel engine options and could get a 1.8 liter petrol engine offering 180 PS peak power and 250 Nm peak torque and a 2.0 liter diesel engine capable of 143 PS power and 320 Nm torque.
The petrol engine gets mated to a 7 speed dual clutch unit while its diesel counterpart receives a 6 speed DSG unit. Manual transmission option will not be on offer with the limited edition Onyx variant.
Available only with the top end variants, expect a minor increase in price for exclusivity. Petrol Skoda Octavia top end is priced at INR 21.7 lakh, while diesel Octavia top-end is priced at INR 23.26 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi.
