Skoda Auto has just confirmed the name for its upcoming 7-seater electric SUV. When launched, it will be positioned as the brand’s flagship EV. It will be called Peaq, as revealed by Skoda Auto and the company has even teased the rear end design of this SUV, which will be the production-spec version of Skoda Vision 7S Concept. Let’s take a closer look.
Skoda Peaq Name Confirmed
When Skoda revealed Vision 7S Concept in August 2022, it grabbed a lot of eyeballs. It featured the brand’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language and was very bold in appearance. Even in India Skoda Vision 7S Concept attracted almost all auto enthusiasts who attended the unveiling at 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.
Now, a production version of Skoda Vision 7S Concept has been teased and it will be named Peaq. Skoda Peaq is designed to appeal to both modern families and explorers. Skoda Peaq’s will bring the brand’s future design direction shaped by sustainability, functional design and cutting-edge technology.
The teaser released by Skoda shows Peaq’s rear along with its LED tail light signature. The name Peaq is to signify its position in the Czech car brand’s portfolio as it will be its flagship vehicle. With three rows of seating, Skoda Peaq will offer space, practicality and comfort to families who want to combine work, leisure and exploration.
When will it launch?
A launch timeline for Skoda Peaq is not revealed yet, but it will debut in the summer of 2026. The company has not confirmed whether Peaq will retain the suicide doors from Vision 7S Concept. Vision S Concept also lacked a B Pillar entirely and had rear-view cameras. Whereas Peaq is expected to come with B Pillars and conventional ORVMs.
Sporty seats, double D-Cut steering, rotating infotainment screen, smart dials for climate control and audio, dual wireless phone charger, a sleek driver’s instrument cluster are expected to make it to production with Skoda Peaq. Skoda might offer an 89 kWh battery pack with 200 kW DC charging and a 600 km range.
