New compact sedan SKODA Rapid Xin Rui at 2013 Shanghai Auto Show
SKODA has introduced its new compact family sedan – Rapid Xin Rui at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. On display at the SKODA stalls spanning 15,000 sq ft in Hall No W5, the compact limousine is set to launch in Chinese markets during the current month. This new Rapid has been specially designed to suit the need of Chinese customers and comes in with 9 various packages.
New compact sedan SKODA Rapid Xin Rui is a spacious, well designed and high value vehicle with an enhanced level of functionality. It sports a multitude of safety features and highly fuel efficient engines. To be introduced with 9 equipment packages, this compact vehicle will offer buyers the ability to combine comfort and safety equipments according to their specific requirements. Rapid in China comes in with two efficient petrol engines, the MPI/66 1.4 kW and MPI/81 1.6 kW.
The brand plans on enhancing sales in China to half a million units per year. The company will be expanding their range, which will include the Xin Rui and SUV Yeti both of which are being launched this year and are the fourth and fifth models to be introduced by the company in Chinese markets.
ŠKODA’s CEO Winfried Vahland said, “The ŠKODA Rapid is crucial for our growth in the next few years.” He added, “China in particular is a key growth market for us. We are looking to expand here in the coming years with the Rapid and other new models. The Rapid has everything going for it to become another successful model of our brand in China. It boasts roominess, expressive design, great value, high functionality, comprehensive safety features, and economical engines. This is the new ŠKODA class for China,” says Vahland.
