Skoda Vision S SUV concept revealed in official images

With design inspired by Czech Cubism and tradition of Bohemian crystal art, Skoda VisionS heads to 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Skoda Vision S Concept is a 7 seater SUV which details the design language of the company’s upcoming SUV. The concept will make global debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next month while the production-ready version is expected to make debut in the Czech Republic later this year.

Vision S Concept comes in with a design that shows off the evolution of Skoda design language. It sports sharp and clean lines with contoured surfaces which are further emphasized by its new Island Green color. Dimensions stand at 4.70 meters in length, 1.91 meters in width and 1.68 meters in height. The Vision S sits on a 2.79-meter long wheelbase and is based on VW MQB platform. It is the first vehicle from the company to sport six seats across three rows.

Powering Skoda Vision S is a plugin hybrid system offering 225 hp peak power while acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 7.4 seconds. Top speed stands at close to 200 kmph. Travel up to 50 km can be achieved on pure electric charge along while with both systems combined travel distance goes up to 1,000 km.

If it makes its way to India, Skoda Vision S SUV (Skoda Kodiak as it is reported to be called once enters production) will compete against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour or Chevrolet Trailblazer while also taking on the Hyundai SantaFe and Honda CRV. Prices could be in the INR 25-35 lakh bracket.
