2015 Ford Figo sedan and hatchback, which were launched in India in the past few months, are now launched in South Africa. Set to be launched in 50 global markets, South Africa is amongst the first one’s to receive India-made Figo twins.
In South Africa, the 2015 Ford Figo hatchback is priced from ZAR 158,900 – ZAR 203,900 (INR 7.7 lakhs – INR 9.9 lakhs). Ford Figo sedan is priced from ZAR 160,900 – ZAR 205,900 (INR 7.84 lakhs – INR 10.04 lakhs).
Offered in three trim levels of Ambient, Trend and Titanium, the Ford Figo hatchback and sedan receive feature swept back headlamps, a new front trapezoidal grille, a raked bonnet, and elongated headlamps. These give the exterior a distinctive and premium stance.
Ford Figo hatch South AfricaInteriors are seen with ample cabin space and storage facilities. In the Figo sedan, luggage space stands at 445 liters while the same can be increased with rear seats folded down. In the hatchback, the boot is smaller as compared to sedan, but it makes up for the lost space via 60/40 split rear seats.

Dashboard design has also been revamped with new SYNC infotainment system, new central console design and unique driver/passenger comforts. Safety features include ABS with EBD, electronic climate control and gear shift indicator. ESP with hill launch assist is exclusive for top end Titanium variants.

Where engine specifications are concerned, 2015 Ford Figo hatchback and sedan in South Africa are powered by petrol and diesel engine options. These include a 1.5 liter Ti-VCT petrol engine offering 112 PS peak power and 136 Nm peak torque mated to options of a 5 speed manual or 6 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. There is also a 1.5 liter TDCi engine capable of 100 PS power and 215 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The latter is only on offer with Figo hatch in South Africa.
Sales of 2015 Ford Figo hatchback and sedan in South Africa commence from mid October 2015.
