The refreshed Mahindra Scorpio will come in with the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine capable of 120bhp peak power and 290Nm peak torque. Currently offered in a choice of 2WD and 4WD option, the facelift will be offered with 5 speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission.
Interiors will be fresh and refurbished with a new dashboard and steering wheel akin to that seen on board the XUV500. Exteriors will sport a new set of headlamps featuring projector lights and LED DRLs. The grill has also been modified as has been its front bumper while changes are also noted on side profile. Rear section gets new LED tail lights and a redesigned tail gate.
It is also expected that Mahindra will address certain issues seen on board the current Scorpio, giving it better ride quality as against the rather bumpy ride offered on its present model. Scorpio facelift is expected to come in with a slight price hike taking into account higher input costs, while it competes with Tata Safari, Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano. Launch is expected to take place during the later part of 2014, probably before Diwali.
