Students from India win gold at SAE International AWIM Jet toy Olympics held at Detroit, USA: SAEINDIA National AWIM
6th class students at St. Columbus School, New Delhi took top honours at SAE International AWIM Jet Toy Olympics in Maximum Time Category. 6th SAE AWIM (“A World in Motion”) International Jet Toy Olympics 2012 held on 25th April’12 at Detroit, Michigan USA saw 125 teams participate and the young SAEINDIA National AWIM Olympic winners put India on top.
Support for SAE student level initiatives like AWIM, Supra SAEINDIA and Efficycle come from company’s like Maruti Suzuki that foster students’ visions. Ankit Sharma, Paanshul Jarrel, Bhavishya Bhatt and Kshitij Malik made up the AWIM team this year.
Overall, the students bagged 4th position. The St. Columbus team made it to the International Jet Toy Olympics when they emerged winners amidst 25 competent teams pan India at the SAEINDIA National Olympics that were held in November, 2011 in New Delhi. In India AWIM is promoted by SAEINDIA, and other industry leaders.

Students of St. Columba’s School, New Delhi created history by winning the Gold medal at the SAE International AWIM Jet Toy Olympics in Maximum Time Category.
Competing with 125 teams from across the globe at the 6th SAE AWIM (“A World in Motion”) International Jet Toy Olympics 2012 held on 25th April’12 at Detroit, Michigan USA, the SAEINDIA National AWIM Olympic winners made India proud.
Congratulating the students on this achievement, I.V. Rao, Managing Executive Officer (Engineering) – Maruti Suzuki and Chairman – SAE Northern India Section said “The students from St. Columba’s, New Delhi have made India proud by becoming the only Indian team ever in the history of SAE International Jet Toy initiative to win a Gold medal. We hope that the SAE initiatives like the AWIM will help bring in a scientific mindset amongst the young Indians. These extremely bright and enthusiastic students also bagged the 4th position overall. The team from St. Columbus had qualified for the International Jet Toy Olympics after emerging victorious among 25 most competent teams from all across India at the SAEINDIA National Olympics held in New Delhi in Nov 2011. AWIM is promoted in India by SAEINDIA and supported by industry leaders like Maruti Suzuki.
