Not all cars in the sub 4 meter SUV segment are enjoying good sales numbers – there are some on offer with decent discount offers
As subcompact SUV sales numbers have zoomed in June, auto companies are looking to further boost sales momentum. Towards that end, a number of attractive schemes have been launched by OEMs as well as specific dealerships. Here’s a quick comparison of discount offers available on subcompact SUVs in July 2020.
Sub 4m SUV Discounts
Mahindra XUV300 – Total benefits worth Rs 75k are currently being offered with Mahindra XUV300. The amount includes cash discount of Rs 30k on XUV300 petrol variant, accessories worth Rs 5k, exchange bonus of Rs 25k, corporate discount of Rs 5k and insurance premium benefit of up to Rs 10k. Launched last year in February, Mahindra XUV300 had emerged as one of the popular options in subcompact SUV space. However, sales appear to be losing steam in recent times, as consumer preference shifts to rivals such as Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon.
Maruti Brezza – One of Maruti’s bestsellers, Brezza is available with exchange bonus worth Rs 20k. The popular compact SUV had achieved the 5 lakh sales milestone earlier this year in January. There was a time when Brezza regularly used to sell more than 10k units per month. In recent times, however, its sales have been impacted by new products such as Venue. Non availability of diesel variant has also led to reduced sales to an certain extent. In June however, Brezza was the top selling subcompact SUV with sales of 4,542 units.
Tata Nexon – India’s only subcompact SUV with 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, Tata Nexon is available with total benefits worth Rs 10k. While 5k corporate discount is being offered by the manufacturer, Rs 5k worth of benefits may be available at specific dealerships.
Ford EcoSport – The first subcompact SUV to be launched in India, Ford EcoSport does not get any direct discount offers from the manufacturer in July 2020. However, it is possible that dealer level discount schemes may be available. For example, at specific dealerships in Delhi and NCR region, EcoSport is being offered with benefits such as 20k cash discount, 15k exchange bonus for old Ford car, 7k exchange bonus for non-Ford car and up to Rs 10k corporate discount.
Sub 4m SUV with 0 discounts
Hyundai Venue – There are no offers for Venue in July 2020. Venue appears to be regaining its sales momentum, so there’s limited need for discount offers. Venue was the second bestselling car in June with sales of 4129 units.
Honda WRV BS6 – Launched earlier this month, Honda WR-V BS6 does not get any discount offers. In addition to the BS6 petrol and diesel engines, WR-V had received a range of exterior and interiors upgrades.
