2014 Subaru Forester made its first public appearance in the US at the 2012 LA Auto Show. The new Forester SUV can be seen with a roomier cabin and better fuel economy. Performance too is improved in the new 2014 Forester. Power for new Forester comes from a naturally aspirated 2.5 liter 4 cylinder boxer engine that offers 170 hp power and 174 lb/ft torque.
Other option available is a 2.0 liter turbocharged boxer that offers 250 hp power and 258 lb/ft torque. Transmission is taken care by either a 6 speed manual or Lineartronic CVT and a six speed or eight speed manual mode respectively. Both models have estimated fuel economy ratings of 24 mpg (10.20 kmpl) in city limits, 32 mpg (13.60 kmpl) on the highway and 27 mpg (11.48 kmpl) combined.
Suspensions of the 2014 Forester is also updated which contributes to better control and added comforts. 8.7 inch ground clearance offers good off-roading capabilities while leg room is increased and now is at 41.7 inches in its rear cabin area.
Available options include smartphone integration, navigation, rear view camera, infotainment system with Harman Kardon audio amplifiers and speakers. Safety enhancements include Keyless Access, power rear liftgate, Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning. The company has yet not announced prices of 2014 Forester, which will probably be disclosed closer to launch date.
