The past fiscal saw the company bring in new models such as the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250, along with the new Access 125. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 series came in with Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) which was developed exclusively for the Indian market. Suzuki Access is one of the company’s top sellers and was the first Suzuki model to become BS6 compliant.

Suzuki Burgman Street scooter has also gained in popularity in India bringing in incremental volumes since launch. In March 2020, Suzuki Motorcycle India also launched the BS6 Intruder at Rs. 1,20,000 marking the company’s foray into the cruiser segment. This bike is powered by a 154.9cc all aluminium, 4 stroke, single cylinder engine that comes in with SEP and fuel injected technology.

The Suzuki Gixxer BS6 is available in three colour options and two dual colour schemes and is priced at Rs.1,11,900. Suzuki Gixxer SF gets two colour schemes and a price tag of Rs.1,21,900 while the Suzuki Gixxer SF MotoGP Edition is priced at Rs.1,22,900. These are powered by a 155cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder, fuel injected SOHC engine that delivers 13.6 PS power at 8,000 rpm and 13.8 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm.

It may be mentioned that Suzuki was the only motorcycle manufacturer to register continual growth in FY2019-20 inspite of a general economic slowdown and lower production of BS4 vehicles with the new BS6 norms coming into effect.

As on date, the company has suspended production at its manufacturing facility at Kherki Dhaula, Gurgaon, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company is taking all measures to safeguard their employees and issued ‘work from home’ orders to staff and associates in line with the Haryana government directives.
