Honda Activa rival, Suzuki Burgman 125 arrives at dealer – Shows storage space

Suzuki Motorcycle India is all set to officially launch the new Suzuki Burgman 125 on 19th July. The maxi scooter made its official debut in the country at 2018 Auto Expo where it was seen in a design similar to that of the Suzuki Intruder 150.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is open for bookings at company dealerships at a down payment of INR 5,000. It will be positioned above the Suzuki Access 125 and come in with a price tag of around INR 70,000-75,000, a premium of INR 7,000 over the Access 125.

Design features on the Burgman 125 Street will include LED head and tail lamps, a digital instrument cluster, tall windscreen and comfortable seating of 21.5 litre capacity. It will also receive a multi function key slot, under seat storage space and a 12V charging socket.

It will ride on 12” front and 10” rear wheels fitted with 90/90 R12 front and 90/100 R10 rear tubeless tires. The Street 125 will get disc brake in the front and drum brake at the rear with combined braking system as standard.

Suspension duties will be handled via telescopic front forks and monoshocks at the rear. This maxi scooter measures 1,884 mm in length, 661 mm in width and 1,163 mm in height. It gets ground clearance of 160 mm and sits on a wheelbase of 1,265 mm. Fuel tank capacity is at 5.6 liters and overall weight stands at 110 kgs.

Burgman Street, in color options of white, grey and black, will be powered by the same engine seen on the Access 125. This 124.3 cc, single cylinder engine offering 8.4 bhp power at 6,500 rpm and 10.2 Nm torque at 5,000 rpm mated to a CVT transmission. Once officially launched in India, Suzuki Burgman Street will compete against Honda Activa 125, Honda Grazia and Aprilia SR 125.
